There are some things that you can teach yourself to do simply by doing them, organically learning what works and what doesn’t through the trial and error that comes with repeated practice. Using a gun isn’t one of them.

The proper use of a firearm is a task that requires guidance and oversight before a person has learned how to do it safely and effectively. And even experienced shooters always have something more to learn from an instructor, be it a safety precaution or a way to improve performance.

Second Amendment Sports is just the place to get that guidance. Our classroom, equipped with high-definition video, connected audio, comfortable furniture, and access to our five-lane pistol bay, is an ideal place for this curriculum. The instructors, many of whom are off-duty or retired law enforcement officers, are NRA-certified, and bring years of expertise to the table, are seasoned veterans who know their stuff. And since there’s so much to know, we’ve made it our goal to offer a well-rounded curriculum for every level of gun user.

From Novice to Expert

Instructor giving one on one gun lesson at Second Amendment Sports

Not everyone who walks into a gun shop is a master gunman. That’s why we’ve arranged a progressive weekly curriculum geared toward increasing skill levels, so that someone new to guns can conveniently be taken from novice to expert in no time.

Others may already have the basics down and want to build on specific areas. For them, we offer a dynamic range of courses that focus on different aspects of shooting. The NRA certifies instructors who can then provide courses in gun safety. In addition to that, we also offer courses in hunting safety, to help you avoid repeating that infamous Dick Cheney story. And if you just want to get better at shooting, we offer courses in that as well—something as simple as even minor changes in your stance can impact your accuracy and firing speed in a big way. There’s always more to learn.
